Sony Ericsson memperbaharui jajaran smartphone Android mini nya yaitu XPERIA X10 Mini dan X10 Mini pro yang terbilang cukup sukses di pasaran. Pembaharunya kali ini membawa cukup banyak fitur baru yang membuat kemampuan kedua hape ini semakin mumpuni.

XPERIA Mini merupakan pembaharu dari seri X10 Mini. XPERIA Mini kali ini mengusung layar sebesar 3 inci dengan teknologi layar terbaru dari Sony Reality Display with BRAVIA Mobile Engine. Lebih besar sedikit dari pendahulunya yang hanya memiliki layar 2.6 inci. Dan juga Sony menambahkan RAM nya menjadi 512 MB dan membekali nya dengan prosesor Qualcomm Snapdragon 1 GHz.

Layarnya juga dilapisi oleh mineral glass screen agar tahan dari goresan. Sedangkan di sektor kamera, tetap dipertahankan di resolusi 5 megapiksel dengan kemampuan merekam video HD 720p. Sedangkan perbedaan antara XPERIA Mini dan XPERIA Mini Pro hanya lah tambahan slide keyboard QWERTY pada XPERIA Mini Pro.

Nokia N8 Got Dressed in Pink!

Nokia sepertinya ingin memikat para hati wanita dengan hape andalan nya yaitu N8 berbalutkan warna pink yang terlabur dalam bodi alumuniumnya. Warna pink ini menambah jajaran 5 warna N8 lainnya : orange, blue, green, silver white dan dark grey. Bahkan isu yang berkembang adalah bahwa N8 terbaru ini akan menggunakan Symbian OS terbaru codenamed Symbian Anna. Sedangkan spesifikasi nya, sama dengan N8 biasa. Refreshing The Bold Series, Meet the Blackberry Bold Touch

Dulu, sewaktu Blackberry Bold diluncurkan, Bold banyak diminati oleh masyarakat Indonesia. Dengan desain yang elegan, layar yang besar, dan keyboard yang lega, mampu memikat hati para penikmat gadget di Indonesia. Maka dari itu, RIM memutuskan untuk me-refresh seri Bold terdahulu nya menjadi Bold Touch. Dengan ketebalan hanya 10.5 mm, RIM mengklaim Bold Touch merupakan Blackberry tertipis yang pernah ada. Selain itu, RIM juga memasang prosesor yang sangat tangguh dengan clock speed 1.2 GHz. Tercepat di antara semua Blackberry dan juga smartphone seperti iPhone dan Android. Benar-benar sebuah revolusi, karena flagship Blackberry saat ini, Torch, hanya dibekali processor dengan clock speed 624 MHz.

 Tidak hanya itu, Bold Touch dibekali dengan layar yang mumpuni dengan diagonal 2.8 inci touchscreen. Jadi user bisa dengan leluasa berpidah dari mode layar sentuh ke mode keyboard. Juga layarnya sudah mengusung teknologi capasitive touchscreen layak nya hape layar sentuh masa kini. Dan RIM juga sudah mengumumkan bahwa Bold Touch akan dibekali dengan Blackberry OS 7 yang merupakan OS terbaru. Berita buruknya, Blackberry model lama, bahkan Torch sekalipun tidak akan mendapatkan upgrade OS 7 ini.

iPad 2 Got Slimmer and Faster

Apple tampak nya ingin mengulangi kesuksesan iPad terdahulu dengan meluncurkan pembaharu nya, iPad 2. Dengan desain yang lebih slim, yaitu hanya 8.8 mm dan dengan rounded bevel, membuat iPad 2 tambah nyaman dipegang. Apalagi Apple berhasil mengurangi berat nya hanya menjadi sekitar 600 gram. Kali ini juga permukaan belakang iPad 2 benar-benar datar dibandingkan dengan iPad terdahulu.

Selain itu, iPad 2 juga dilengkapi dengan prosesor dual-core A5 chip dan GPU (Graphical Processing Unit) yang diklaim 9x lebih cepat daripada iPad generasi pertama.  Layar iPad 2 sudah mengusung LED-backlit dengan IPS technology yang diklaim bisa membuat layar lebih cerah dan sudut pandang yang luas.

iPad 2 juga sudah dilengkapi software FaceTime layaknya iPhone 4, yaitu untuk melakukan panggilan video call via Wi-Fi. Dengan kamera depan yg mempunyai resolusi 0,3 megapiksel dan kamera belakang 0.7 megapiksel, sebenarnya sudah cukup untuk video-calling. Tapi dibandingkan dengan Samsung Galaxy Tab dan Motorola Xoom yang kamera nya 5 megapiksel, tentu kamera iPad 2 terlihat seperti tidak ada apa-apanya dibandingkan para kompetitornya.

Apple juga sudah menyaipkan accesories khusus untuk iPad 2 yang diberi nama Smart Cover. Smart Cover ini berguna untuk melindungi layar dari goresan dan menempel memakai magnet. Selain digunakan sebagai pelinsung juga bisa digunakan sebagai dock mini. Apple menyediakan 10 macam warna. Sebuah ide yang cukup inovatif.

Corby With Brains

Dulu, smartphones identik dengan hape high-end dengan harga selangit. Tapi tidak sekarang. Samsung telah mematahkan filosofi lama itu dengan memperkenalkan, Samsung i5500 Galaxy 5. Seri Galaxy identik dengan hape Samsung berbasis Android. Dan Galaxy 5 merupakan versi low-end nya dari Galaxy S. The True iPad Rival

Rupanya RIM ikut gerah melihat kesuksesan Apple iPad di ranah tablet PC. Mungkin inilah yang membuat RIM ingin ikut meramaikan pasar tablet PC sekaligus menantang iPad dengan meluncurkan Blackberry Playbook™. Tablet PC berlayar sentuh kapasitif  7 inci ini menggunakan Blackberry Tablet OS yang terbaru. Dan Blackberry Playbook ini merupakan tablet pertama yang menggunakan CPU dual-core. Sudah tentu performanya tidak usah diragukan lagi. Apalagi dengan RAM 1GB, user tidak akan mengalami "out of memory".

Tidak sampai di situ saja. Playbook masih menawarkan berbagai kelebihannya dibandingkan iPad. Playbook sudah mendukung Flash 10.1 and HTML5 support, microHDMI, microUSB ports and Wi-Fi a/b/g/n support. Jelas lebih unggul daripada iPad yang tidak mendukung Flash. Nokia is Back!

Nokia is back! Ya itu slogan yang tepat untuk Nokia yang sedang menghadapi gempuran dari berbagai rivalnya seperti Apple dan Google. Nokia melakukan berbagai upaya untuk menghadapi para pesaingnya itu. Pertama Nokia mennganti CEO (Chief Executive Officer) mereka, Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo akan diganti oleh Stephen Elop. Lalu, Nokia juga mengenalkan 3 amunisi barunya untuk menhadapi gempuran Android dan iPhone.

Nokia E7

Hape ini akan menjadi flagship Nokia berikutnya setelah N97. E7 dibekali layar sentuh geser dengan mekanisme seperti N97 (tilt) seluas 4 inci. Dengan resolusi nHD dan teknologi AMOLED, membuat layar hape ini nyaman dilihat. Selain itu, layar E7 juga dibekali dengan teknologi ClearBack Technology. Nokia menjanjikan teknologi ini akan menghasilkn warna hitam yang lebih pekat, konsumsi daya yang rendah, dan sunlight legibility yang lebih baik.

Tidak hanya itu, E7 juga sudah dibekali dengan konektivitas high-end seperti 10.2Mbps HSDPA, 2Mbps HSUPA, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0, A-GPS and Cell-ID positioning, dan USB On-The-Go. Walau masuk dalam jajaran E-Series yang notabene hape bisnis, hape ini sarat dengan fitur multimedia. Hape ini patut disebut fashion phone. Dengan body stainless steel, layar sentuh lebar, dan ketebalan hanya 10,5 mm, menjadikan Nokia C7 mempunyai tampilan mewah nan simpel dn juga glamour. Tidak hanya dari sisi tampilan, C7 juga mempunyai konektivitas yang sangat lengkap, persis dengan E7, kecuali utnuk HDMI-port nya.

Nokia C7 juga dipercaya sebagai salah satu jagoan mereka yang memakai sistem operasi Smbian^3. Walaupun layarnya "hanya" 3,2 inci, sudah mendukung capasitive dan Nokia ClearBlack Display. Hape ini merupakan kembaran C6 yang sudah terlebih dahulu beredar di pasaran. Bedanya, "adik"nya ini tidak memiliki keyboard QWERTY seperti sang "kakak". Lalu C6-01 juga sudah mengusung Symbian^3, tidak seperti C6 yang masih mengusung Symbian 9.4 5th edition. Fitur-fitur yang dimiliki hape ini persis dengan Nokia C7. Hanya saja, layar nya kembali disunat menjadi 3,2 inci.
