Akhirnya Apple merilis seri penerus iPhone 3GS, yaitu iPhone 4. Hape ini digadang-gadang mampu menyaingi hape-hape Android yang sudah beredar di pasaran. Desan hape ini tampak lebih elegan daripda pendahulunya dengan metallic frame, dan back cover berlapis kaca anti gores seperti tampak depannya. Hape ini dibekali prosesor yang sama dengan iPad, yaitu A4 dengan clockspeed 1GHz. Layarnya juga dibekali teknologi Retina Display, yang mampu menampilkan gambar sangat detil denganresolusi 640 x 960 piksel, berarti 4x lebih besar daripada iphone generasi sebelumnya. Tidak hanya layarnya saja yang mengusung fitur HD, kameranya pun sudah mendukung fitur HD dengan resolusi 5 Megapiksel yang dilengkaipi LED flash, dan kemampuan video recording mencapai resolusi 720p HD @ 30 fps. Apple juga mengganti nama iPhone OS dengan nama iOS. Jadi nantinya semua produk portable Apple akan memakai iOS 4. Pre-orders sudah bias dilakukan sejak tanggal 15 Juni, dan akan resmi dirilis pada tanggal 24 Juni.
